Valmeinier, France

Valmeiniers represent excellent value for money with a friendly, French atmosphere. The small purpose built resort of Valmeinier offers spectacular views over the surrounding mountains. Neighbouring Valloire, built around a seventeenth century Baroque style church, is a family orientated resort with an authentic traditional French village feel.

Valmeinier is located at the foot of the Mont Thabor and is a medium size ski resort. The first ski lift was built in 1973, at L'Armera, connecting to the Valloire ski area. The village at 1,500 m started to develop with the arrival of various holiday village.

Most of the nightlife is based up on the mountain at the Valmeinier 1800 where there half a dozen bars. The tourist office also organise fun events several times a week. A new bowling alley has recently been added, as well as a new venue for music concerts.
