Bad Kleinkirchheim is the famous home to one of the greatest names in ski racing, Franz Klammer. It is located in a sunny little valley in the midst of the Carinthian Nockberge mountains of Southern Austria.
Bad Kleinkirchheim is not one of the highest ski areas in the Alps although its ski area is over a typical range for Austria. However, aware of possible snow cover issues, it has become one of the world’s largest snowmakers with more than 700 snow guns covering virtually 100% of the slopes – so as long as it’s cold enough, snow is guaranteed.
Bad Kleinkirchheim is also a major centre for international mountain sports competition, including the Alpine World-Cup, the Snowboard World Series and even the European Mountain bike Snow Downhill Cup.
